A treatment lasts approximately 60-90 minutes and it is recommended to allow a minimum of 24 hours rest following as tension is released and healing continues to take place.
PEOPLE
After the initial intake of history, the client then lies fully clothed comfortably on a massage table. The treatment can be by light touch if OK with the client or may be done just off the skin if sensitive to touch. You are welcome to ask questions or rest during the treatment. A deep sense of relaxation and calmness occurs as the body releases tension caused from stress, strain and injury. The body will feel more comfortable and peaceful following a treatment.
HORSES AND LARGE ANIMALS
After an initial intake of history, a pre-exam of movement will be discussed with you while the horse is being walked. Therefore an extra person available to handle the horse would be ideal. Following this, the treatment will begin and you may notice signs of the horse releasing such as: yawning, licking and chewing, softening of the eyes and muzzle, twitching muscles, tossing of the head, blowing of the nasal passages, stretching, deep breathing , moving around re-adjusting the body, standing still with head hanging, among others. These signs can be observed up to 24 hours after the treatment as releasing can still occur.
After the treatment, another exam of the movement of the horse will be observed and discussed with you so you have a pre and post treatment comparison of the horse’s movement seen for yourself. You will definitely notice a difference.
SMALL ANIMALS
Very similar to the horse treatment although usually it is done inside somewhere comfortable for the animal to settle. Often the animal falls asleep during the treatment, which is a very healing state.
After the treatment the animal may stay asleep, lay where they are and rest as they process the changes, or may get up and appear more lively and have more freedom of movement.
